We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Front of House Supervisor to join our team at The Eagle at Barrow.

We are a busy gastro pub offering quality food, drinks and excellent service, as well as a popular function room for private parties and events.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and is ready to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As Front of House Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of The Eagle at Barrow, helping to lead the front-of-house team and ensuring our customers receive a fantastic experience every time they visit.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising and supporting the front-of-house team during service
Leading by example and delivering outstanding customer service
Welcoming customers and ensuring they receive a warm and friendly experience
Helping to manage busy lunch, evening and weekend services
Ensuring food and drinks are served to a consistently high standard
Dealing confidently and professionally with customer queries
Supporting the management team with the smooth running of the business
Training and mentoring new members of staff
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service
Working closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth service
Helping to oversee functions, parties and events when required
Cashing up tills accurately at the end of service
Completing all end-of-day cash and till procedures
Taking responsibility for closing shifts and ensuring all closing procedures are completed
Ensuring the building is secure at the end of the evening
Checking that equipment, lights and relevant areas are safely switched off
Ensuring the pub is left clean, tidy and ready for the following day
Helping to create a positive, professional and enjoyable working environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous hospitality or supervisory experience
Has strong bar experience and a good knowledge of drinks
Has mixology and cocktail-making experience
Is confident leading a team in a busy environment
Has excellent customer service skills
Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure
Has a friendly and approachable personality
Takes pride in their work and has a genuine passion for hospitality
Is trustworthy and comfortable taking responsibility for closing shifts
Has excellent attention to detail
Is confident working both behind the bar and on the restaurant floor
Is flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and busy periods
Is comfortable working as part of a close-knit team

Experience in a gastro pub, restaurant, cocktail bar or quality food-led pub would be highly desirable.
