Housing Support Worker

It is an exciting time to join our organisation in this role, as we celebrate 170 incredible years of continuous service to the communities of Gloucestershire; supporting those most in need and working alongside generations of families and individuals over an astonishing 17 decades of meaningful and transformative work.

We are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker, based at Williams House, Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham, with a sense of social purpose to help improve the lives of others and make a lasting difference in the lives of adults throughout the County of Gloucestershire.

The role is 37.5 hours a week, working on a three-week rota basis, with one week in three working weekends.

Salary is up to £27,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.

ABOUT YOU

We are inviting applications for the role of Housing Support Worker, based at Williams House, Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be tactful and diplomatic, apply judgement and common sense and react sensitively and with emotional intelligence when dealing with the complex or sensitive circumstances of vulnerable people.

You will have:

· a Level 3 qualification or a desire to achieve this qualification.

· access to your own transport and a full driving licence.

· experience of working in temporary housing, supporting homelessness and complex needs, or similar.

The Housing Support Worker’s role is to work as part of a committed and capable team to provide housing related support to those who need our help, supporting them to achieve their aspirations for future housing and independent living. The Housing Support Worker also helps to maintain a safe and supportive living environment for vulnerable people and to help manage any additional support needs of residents through various engagement methods.
