About The Organisation

Here at NHS Lanarkshire, we put the patient at the heart of everything we do. Each colleague within the organisation plays a key role in how we deliver our healthcare services.

We proudly serve a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in both North and South Lanarkshire. NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are available for bank shifts Monday Friday and whose experience provides them with the flexibility to work across a variety of clinical areas. Whilst we offer very occasional weekend bank shifts, the majority of available shifts are Monday Friday.

We would also encourage applications from people with experience in providing specialist Pelvic Health and Uro Gyn Physiotherapy services.

Please note on your application which clinical areas, day and sites you would be keen to work in.

The Role

Takes a lead role for a designated clinical area with a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge. Has responsibility for the supervision, education and development of more junior staff, physiotherapy support workers and students within the speciality.
Provides a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers.
Has active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research

The working pattern for this role is : Staffbank 0 hours

In this key role, you will:

To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including direct and indirect patient care
To assess capacity gain valid consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent.
Act independently to assess, analyse clinical and non-clinical information and provide highly specialist and comprehensive clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention. This includes patients with complex presentations
Act independently to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise rehabilitation potential including decision making regarding discharge from care

What You'll Bring:

Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC registration
Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level
Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
