About the Role

Casa de Dios Community Outreach Services Ltd supports community engagement, public-information programmes, events, volunteer activities and outreach initiatives across the United Kingdom.

We are looking for a creative, organised and community-focused Communications Officer to coordinate internal and external communications across our digital, print and public-engagement channels.

The successful candidate will prepare newsletters, website content, announcements, social-media posts and event materials. You will work with programme teams, volunteers, community partners and external suppliers to ensure that information is accurate, accessible and delivered to the appropriate audiences.

This mid-level position is suitable for candidates with experience in communications, public relations, digital content, community engagement, marketing or event promotion.

Key Responsibilities

Communications Planning: Support the development and delivery of communication plans for community programmes, events and organisational activities.

Content Writing: Prepare clear and engaging website copy, newsletters, announcements, articles, emails and promotional materials.

Social Media: Create, schedule and monitor approved content across the organisation’s social-media channels.

Website Updates: Maintain accurate programme, event and organisational information on the company website.

Community Announcements: Prepare timely notices regarding events, activities, registration details and service updates.

Email Communications: Coordinate mailing lists, campaign content, test messages and scheduled email communications.

Event Promotion: Produce and distribute promotional content for workshops, meetings, outreach activities and community events.

Media Enquiries: Receive routine media requests, gather relevant information and refer sensitive matters to authorised representatives.

Stakeholder Communication: Maintain professional communication with community partners, suppliers, volunteers and programme participants.

Brand Consistency: Ensure that communications follow approved visual, language and accessibility guidelines.

Content Coordination: Work with designers, photographers, programme staff and external suppliers to produce communication materials.

Internal Communications: Prepare staff updates, meeting announcements, operational notices and internal newsletters.

Editorial Calendar: Maintain a schedule of planned content, campaigns, events and publication deadlines.

Performance Reporting: Monitor website traffic, email engagement and social-media activity and prepare basic performance reports.

Reputation Support: Monitor public feedback and escalate inaccurate, sensitive or potentially damaging information appropriately.

What We Are Looking For

At least 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, content creation or community engagement.
Strong written and spoken English.
Excellent proofreading, editing and content-writing skills.
Ability to adapt messages for different audiences and communication channels.
Experience managing social-media or website content.
Strong organisation and deadline-management skills.
Ability to coordinate several campaigns and communication requests simultaneously.
Professional communication skills when working with community partners and members of the public.
Confidence using email-marketing, website and office-productivity systems.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Media or a related subject.
Previous experience in a community, charity, membership, faith-based or public-service organisation.
Familiarity with content-management and email-marketing platforms.
Basic knowledge of graphic-design or image-editing tools.
Experience promoting events, programmes or public-information campaigns.
Familiarity with website analytics and social-media reporting.
Understanding of accessible and inclusive communication practices.
Experience coordinating photographers, designers, printers or other creative suppliers.

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
