Company Overview

Volmary Ltd is the UK operation of the European Volmary family of businesses. Our business is 100 years old and in total our group employees total over 1500 people, of which 180 work in our Cambridgeshire nursery.

Our Wisbech St. Mary site has 50 acres of land with 20 acres of efficient glasshouses, Polythene greenhouses, energy centres. We are focused on serving UK based growers and distributors with high quality young plants and providing high quality service levels in a friendly and professional manner.

We are looking for a Grower to join our team.

Whether you're early in your growing career or looking to build on your existing experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with an international young plant & seed producer.

THE ROLE

You'll be part of the small growing team, taking responsibility for a dedicated area of glass. This is a hands-on, technical role where no two days are the same.

You'll be involved in:

· Crop walking and monitoring plant health

· Managing pests and diseases

· Following and adjusting growing schedules

· Spraying and irrigation

· General crop farming

· Working closely with the production and wider nursery teams

You'll report to a highly experienced Technical Manager and work alongside the Head Grower, giving you the chance to learn and grow your skills in a supportive environment.

Working Pattern

The role is seasonal in nature, so workloads will vary throughout the year. Weekend working is required during busy periods to help ensure the highest standards of crop care and production.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

· A horticulture or related qualification

· Ideally, you'll have commercial growing experience

· PA1 and PA6 certificates

· A practical, hands-on approach, you're happy pulling hoses and operating sprayers

· A genuine interest in plant production and a desire to develop your career
