Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create welcoming environments that inspire pride and enjoyment for all visitors and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize a variety of tools and equipment, and contribute to the upkeep of beautiful landscapes.

Duties

Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, shrub pruning, hedge trimming, weeding, and turf care to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy.
Operate power tools such as ride-on mowers, lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other gardening equipment safely and efficiently
Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruners, and spades for planting, soil preparation, and general garden upkeep.
Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs or hazards and address them promptly.
Support the maintenance of machinery used in landscaping tasks.

Requirements

Previous experience in the use of equipment such as ride-on mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers etc.
Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot power tools and machinery effectively.
Ability to handle hand tools safely and efficiently in outdoor environments
Basic understanding of horticultural practices to support landscape maintenance.
Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform manual tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills
