Commercial Painter (training into specialist coatings and fire protection)

Location: Annacloy, County Down

Salary: Dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, with overtime available

Who we are

We are IAP Ltd (Inspection & Protection Ltd). We apply protective coatings to commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and UK.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Commercial Painters who are interested in developing their skills within our team of specialist applicators.

The opportunity

At this exciting time for our business, we are looking for experienced commercial painters who want to move into specialist coatings

We are interested in candidates from a commercial painting and decorating background who are eager to learn new skills and develop within the specialist coatings industry. Previous commerical painting experience would be beneficial but is not essential

This is a genuinely niche skill set. Once you have it, it stays with you.

Training will be provided in areas such as:

Industrial coating systems
Surface preparation techniques
Specialist paint applications
Passive fire protection coatings
Site safety and compliance requirements

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting and coating applications
Assist with specialist coating and protective paint systems
Work alongside experienced operatives on commercial and industrial projects
Ensure work is completed safely and in line with project specifications
Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
Travel to sites throughout Northern Ireland, Ireland, and occasionally the UK

Candidate Requirements

Essential

Previous experience as a Painter & Decorator or Commercial Painter
Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Ability to work as part of a team
Full UK driving licence

Desirable

Experience working on commercial construction projects
CSR or CSCS card
IPAF, PASMA, or other site certifications
Experience using spray painting equipment
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques
