Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Artisan Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bakery production and preparation, with a particular emphasis on artisan bakery techniques. As an Artisan Baker, you will play a pivotal role aiding our Head Baker in creating high-quality baked goods that reflect our commitment to excellence and innovation in the baking industry. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of food safety practices.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of breads & baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all preparation areas are maintained in accordance with food safety regulations.
Collaborate with the senior bakery team to develop new products and improve existing recipes.
In the absence of the Head Baker, monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakehouse, including equipment and utensils.
Assist in training the junior bakery team on new products and food safety practices.
Participate in quality control measures to ensure consistency and presentation of all baked goods.

Requirements

Proven experience in an artisan baker role within a a retail artisan bakehouse or similar food production environment.
Strong knowledge of bakery preparation techniques, including dough shaping, proving, and presentation of products before the bake.
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices for bakery hygiene.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
A passion for artisan baking and a desire to innovate within the bakehouse.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the business needs.
