Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards and are roadworthy. Duties

Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections in accordance with MOT testing standards.
Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment.
Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
Utilise hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete repairs accurately and safely.
Carry out heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Ensure all work complies with legal safety requirements and company policies.
Maintain a clean, organised workshop environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Assist in ordering parts and managing stock levels as needed.

Experience

Proven experience working as a mechanic or in a similar automotive repair role.
Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
Experience with MOT testing procedures and standards is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
