Experienced Freelance Property Inventory Clerk

Job Type: Freelance / Full-time / Permanent
Location: On the road – London, Essex & surrounding areas
Availability: Monday–Saturday

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Freelance Property Inventory Clerk to join our growing, multi-award-winning property inventory company.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, is happy to travel anywhere for a full day's work, and is looking for regular freelance property inspection work.

You will be visiting residential properties across London, Essex and surrounding areas, carrying out professional check-in, check-out and mid-term inspections.

Travel is a key part of this role

You must be willing and able to travel to different locations throughout the day. Jobs may be in different parts of London, Essex or surrounding areas, and you should be comfortable travelling up to several hours from home when required.

You may be allocated multiple appointments in different locations on the same day, so flexibility and willingness to travel are essential.

About Us

We work with landlords and letting agents across London and Essex, providing detailed and accurate property condition reports for:

Check-in inventories
Check-out inspections
Mid-term inspections
Property condition reports
Meter readings and photographic records

Key Responsibilities

Carry out thorough property inspections
Complete detailed check-in, check-out and mid-term reports
Accurately record the condition of properties and their contents
Take high-quality, well-organised photographs
Record utility meter readings
Collect and return keys when required
Upload and complete reports using InventoryBase
Ensure reports are completed accurately and within required deadlines
Communicate professionally with landlords, agents, tenants and our office team
Manage your own diary and travel arrangements
Be prepared to travel to different locations for appointments throughout the day

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Property Inventory Clerk
Minimum 150 completed property inventories/inspections
Must be able to provide sample check-in, check-out and mid-term reports
Proven experience using InventoryBase – ESSENTIAL
Excellent attention to detail
Strong written and spoken English
Highly reliable and punctual
Professional appearance and manner
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Confident using smartphones, apps and camera functions
Able to work independently and manage your own schedule
Able to meet strict deadlines
Willing and able to travel extensively for work
Available Monday–Saturday
Own vehicle is advantageous but not essential, provided you are able to travel reliably using public transport where required

The Ideal Candidate

Has genuine experience within the property inventory industry
Can work independently without constant supervision
Has an excellent eye for detail
Takes pride in producing professional, accurate reports
Is comfortable travelling to unfamiliar locations
Is flexible and able to accept jobs at different locations
Can manage multiple appointments in one day
Is punctual and dependable
Is comfortable with occasional last-minute bookings
Understands the importance of excellent customer service

Please do not apply if you do not have at least 2 years' property inventory experience and 150 completed inventories/inspections.
