SOLAR INSTALLER / ROOFER WANTED — SELF-EMPLOYED

SG Group is building out our solar installation team and we're looking for four self-employed Solar Installers / Roofers to join us. Whether your background is in roofing, solar PV installation, or both, we want to hear from you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We install commercial solar PV systems across a variety of roof types and building projects along with commercial roofing jobs and we value roofing experience just as highly as solar-specific experience. As we grow the team, you'll be working alongside experienced installers on live sites, gaining exposure to a range of commercial installations. Most of our work is within around 1.5 hours' travel of Lichfield, though job sites do vary across England, so a willingness to travel is important.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Installing solar PV panels, mounting systems and associated equipment on commercial roofs
- Variety of roofing works including flat, tiled and commercial metal sheet roofs
- Working safely at height across a variety of roof types
- Working as part of a small site team to deliver installations to schedule and to spec
- Following site safety procedures and method statements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Experience as a roofer, a solar/PV installer, or both — we're keen to hear from candidates with either background
- No previous experience needed if you have the willingness to learn with full support and on the job training is provided
- Electrically qualified installers are especially welcome, and are rewarded with a higher day rate
- A full UK driving licence, given site locations vary and travel is a regular part of the role
- A CSCS card, or willingness to work towards one
- Comfortable working at height and outdoors in all weather
- Own tools preferred, though tools can be provided for those new to solar/ roofing

PAY

This is a self-employed (CIS) role, with day rates of £180–£400 depending on experience and qualifications:
