Location: Longridge Road, Preston

Hours: 42.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday plus Saturdays when required

Salary: Earning potential from £28,254.33 per year

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Export Operative to join our team at our busy Preston site.

This is a practical, hands-on role involving the safe removal, identification and storage of reusable parts from cars and motorcycles. You will also support the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) and help ensure work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.

The role is primarily based outdoors and involves manual work and heavy lifting. Training will be provided on our processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Safely removing, identifying and storing parts from cars and motorcycles
Removing tyres and batteries
Supporting the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles
Handling vehicle parts carefully to prevent damage
Completing all required paperwork accurately
Operating plant, equipment and forklift trucks where appropriately qualified
Inspecting and maintaining plant and equipment
Reporting faults, damage or defects immediately
Working closely and communicating effectively with other teams
Following instructions and established site procedures
Complying with all environmental and health and safety requirements
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area
Supporting with other duties as required

About You

You will:

Have previous experience in vehicle mechanics, dismantling or a similar practical role
Be confident working with a wide variety of vehicle makes and models
Have a good understanding of vehicle parts and components
Be comfortable working outdoors in a busy environment
Be physically able to undertake manual work involving heavy lifting
Be reliable and demonstrate a strong work ethic
Work accurately with excellent attention to detail
Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team
Take a proactive approach to health and safety
