Accounts-Based Office Manager

Job Summary

The Accounts-Based Office Manager is responsible for managing the company's financial administration, overseeing office operations, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of a busy joinery business. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with directors, office and workshop staff, suppliers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Finance

Process purchase and sales invoices.
Raise customer invoices and applications for payment.
Credit control and chasing outstanding payments.
Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards.
Prepare and process supplier payments.
Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (Xero).
Track project costs and expenditure.
Liaise with external accountants.
Assist with month-end and year-end accounts.
Process payroll information.
Monitor company cash flow and report to management.
Work and liaise with Company Accountant.

Office Management

Oversee the daily running of the office.
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.
Maintain office supplies and equipment.
Develop and maintain office procedures and filing systems.
Coordinate meetings and manage company diaries.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Create project files and maintain accurate records.
Maintain employee records.
Assist with recruitment administration.
Monitor staff holidays and sickness records.

Requirement Skills and Experience

Previous accounts and office management experience.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
Experience using Xero accounting software.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hrs: Monday-Friday 9-5pm, office based, parking available

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
