Full job description

Overview

Due to medical retirement We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser (Trainee) / Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, managing medication dispensing, and ensuring smooth reception operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures and excellent communication skills, contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and staff alike.

Duties

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols
Assist patients at the reception desk, answering queries and directing them appropriately
Manage patient records and update electronic health systems with precision
Administer medications under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety standards
Provide compassionate patient care, including offering advice and support as needed
Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and manage administrative tasks efficiently
Maintain stock levels of medications and pharmacy supplies, placing orders when necessary
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Requirements

Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable but training is also available.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
Ability to work accurately under pressure in a busy environment
A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related field is preferred
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection standards
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
