Overview
We have been driving manufacturing innovation for over 27 years. Over the last 12 months, we upgraded our operations by transitioning to NetSuite, and we are now looking for a highly experienced, capable finance professional to step into this crucial role. Replacing a leaver within our close-knit, four-person finance team, you will become the steady anchor of our day-to-day numbers.
We want a seasoned specialist who loves the art of the perfect reconciliation, wants to take total ownership of our daily processing, and will help us optimize how we bed-in our new software. To ensure team resilience, you will also be fully supported to run our payroll, expanding your impact without losing focus on your core expertise.
What You’ll Do (Accountabilities)
- Ledger Ownership: Execute fast and flawless transactional data processing to keep our primary ledgers completely accurate and up to date within 72 hours.
- Bank & System Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, company card statements, and digital transactions within NetSuite to ensure our system perfectly matches reality at all times.
- NetSuite Optimization: Use your experience to refine our newly implemented NetSuite workflows, finding smarter, more efficient ways to handle daily processing and ledger routines.
- Operational Resilience: Master our payroll function to provide seamless cross-coverage, ensuring our small team eliminates any single point of failure.
- Data Hygiene Audits: Audit the ledgers regularly to catch system errors early, spot skipped invoices, and resolve internal or supplier questions quickly.
- Inbox Gatekeeping: Manage the central finance inbox, protecting the wider team from constant interruptions and ensuring supplier queries are answered rapidly and professionally.
What You’ll Bring (Requirements)Must-Haves (Essential)
- Proven Bookkeeping Expertise: Solid, hands-on experience managing core ledgers, processing high-volume transactional data, and performing complex bank reconciliations independently.
- An "Above-the-Line" Mindset: A natural alignment with core accountability—operating with total ownership and responsibility rather than blame, excuses, or denial.
- Airtight Attention to Detail: An obsession with system data hygiene and a proven track record of catching and resolving processing errors early.
- Communication & Organization: Excellent organizational skills to act as an effective departmental gatekeeper and manage supplier relationships professionally.
Nice-to-Haves (Preferred)
- Direct, hands-on experience using NetSuite (or an equivalent major ERP system).
- Prior experience working within the manufacturing sector.
- An AAT qualification (Level 3 or 4) or being proudly Qualified by Experience (QBE).
