Security Officer - Leeds, LS1

Are you passionate about maintaining a safe and secure environment? Do you possess excellent customer service skills and thrive in a dynamic and diverse work setting? We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Officer to join our team at a bustling shopping centre located in Leeds, LS1.

Job Role: Security Officer
Location: Leeds, LS1
Working Hours: Nights (17:45-05:45) 42 Hours per week average
License Requirement: SIA Door Supervisor Licence or SIA Security Guarding Licence, CCTV licence.

Pay Rate: £14.45 p/h

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a visible presence within the shopping centre, ensuring the safety and security of customers, staff, and premises.
Monitor CCTV cameras and respond promptly to any suspicious activities or security breaches.
Provide exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers with queries, directions, and general support.
Collaborate closely with colleagues and other workers, fostering a cooperative and positive working environment.
Conduct regular patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and other illegal activities.
Respond efficiently to emergency situations, following established protocols and taking appropriate action.
Complete accurate incident reports, documenting any notable occurrences or security-related issues.
Enforce access control measures, verifying the credentials of individuals entering restricted areas.
Assist with crowd management during peak times, ensuring a safe and orderly flow of people.
Stay updated on relevant security procedures, regulations, and best practices.

Requirements:

Possession of a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence or SIA Security Guarding Licence is mandatory.
CCTV licence is highly desirable.
Prior experience in a security-related role is preferred but not essential; we welcome applications from candidates with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
Strong observation and problem-solving abilities, capable of making quick and sound decisions under pressure.
A professional and customer-oriented approach, with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
Physical fitness and resilience, as the role may involve standing, walking, and occasional lifting or carrying.
A high level of integrity and ethical conduct, understanding the importance of confidentiality and discretion.
Flexibility to work either days or nights, as per the assigned shift schedule.
