Full job description

Summary:

The purpose of the Assembly Fitter role is to build/assemble from drawings and SWP’s; a variety of sub-level parts of varying complexity using standard bench tools and processes.

Responsibilities:

· Riveting

· Drilling, countersinking, filing

· Press fitting – operating hydraulic and fly presses

· Bush spinning

· Broad assembly using a range of fasteners

· Operating a variety of bench top tools

· Operating Pneumatic Tools

· Applying surface treatments including paints, alocrom etc

· Bonding using sealants and over sealing

· Low level self-inspection and setting to proven jigs

· Semi-skilled sheet metal ability e.g. defect removal

· Setting products in jigs and fixtureS

· Working on larger assemblies exclusive to bench work

Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the jobholder’s capability consistent with the Terms and Conditions of employment.

This job description is current at the date issued. Changes in the laws of the country, technology, customer demands and the need to improve efficiency for the survival of the Company may require changes to be made in future times. You will be consulted about any such changes as they arise.

Knowledge and Skills:

· Working accurately and methodically following work instructions and SWP’s

· Capable of working autonomously

· Can be entrusted to self-inspect and work under loose supervision

· Vigilance in working sub-details for errors inflicted from previous processing

· Motivated and driven with a positive mental attitude

· Positive work demeanor

· Promote suggestions to improve working methods

Experience and Education:

· Previous experience is a similar field of work

· On the job direction and experience

· Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Pay: £15.88 per hour

Expected hours: 39.0 per week
