Overview

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Butchers to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food production and a strong understanding of meat preparation and safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary expertise within a professional environment, contributing to high-quality food services. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with experience in food preparation, butchery, or related culinary fields. Candidates should be committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cut meat products according to specified recipes and quality standards
Ensure all meat is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area and equipment
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of prepared products for service
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
Provide excellent customer service when engaging with clients or retail customers (if applicable)

Experience

Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or butchery is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices within a professional kitchen or butcher’s shop
Experience working in a restaurant or similar food service environment is advantageous
Familiarity with food preparation techniques, including meat cutting, deboning, and portioning
Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Kitchen experience that demonstrates organisational skills and adherence to safety protocols
