Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen operations. The role is ideal for those with a keen eye for detail and a passion for supporting culinary excellence.

Duties

Washing, sanitising, and storing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness standards are met
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Supporting chefs with organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients
Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift
Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed
Restocking supplies as needed to support smooth kitchen operations
Assisting with general cleaning duties to uphold health and safety regulations
Supporting the team during busy service periods by providing additional assistance as required

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is a plus
Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards is advantageous
Experience in serving or working within a culinary setting will be considered beneficial
Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a professional kitchen team
