Full job description

This job is not suitable around student hours.

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Shop Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our shop. The role includes serving customers, preparing baked goods for sale, and assisting with wholesale orders, while maintaining a clean and welcoming shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting customers and providing friendly, helpful service
Operating the till and handling cash/card payments
Slicing, packaging, and labelling baked goods
Preparing and completing wholesale orders accurately and on time
Restocking shelves and arranging displays
Keeping the shop, preparation areas, and equipment clean and tidy
Assisting customers with product questions and orders
Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
Opening and closing the shop when required

Skill and Qualifications:

Good communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail, especially for packaging and orders
Basic maths skills for cash handling
Retail or food handling experience preferred but not essential (training provided)

Hours of Work

Part-time
Working days and hours to be agreed
This role requires consistent daytime availability during the working week/weekend and is therefore not suitable for students in full-time education.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
