Who we are:

First Hamblin is a family-run business and serves as the headquarters for The Central Garage (Uppingham) Ltd. CGU is the parent company and consists of the following companies.

What we are looking for:

This is a great chance to join a growing family-owned business as a vital member of staff in the accounts and administration areas of the branch. It will be a varied and fast paced role interacting with all areas of the business with a vast array of tasks to assist with.

Experience: We are looking for someone with at least three years’ experience in a similar role.

The monthly tasks include but are not limited to

Processing petty cash
Manage the expenses process along with credit card reconciliations
Processing purchase ledger invoices following the group’s authorisation procedure
Liaising with suppliers and ensuring payments are processed timely
Reconciling supplier statements for month end
Maintenance of the supplier database
Assisting with audit preparation yearly
Invoicing vehicles to the sales ledger
Preparing handover documents for customers
Administration of warranties for sold vehicles
Maintain payment record and conduct all relevant file checks
Processing of vehicle registrations with the DVLA along with ongoing Taxing of vehicles as required
Assisting with stock maintenance and demo writedowns
Ad-hoc duties as required by the department

Essential skills required

Excellent organisation skills
Experience of working in an accounts department or an administration department
High level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Confident with Microsoft office applications such as Excel and Word, ideally at Intermediate level
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills
Team player with the ability to build internal and external relationships
Motor trade experience advantageous but not essential
Effective communicator both written and verbal
Works on own initiative and a self-starter

Desirable Skills required

Motor trade experience
Pinnacle DMS software usage

Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum

Work Schedule – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00
