Part Time Receptionist/Administrator

We are looking to expand our current reception team of 6 at Cowan House Health Consulting and Life style Centre.

Location: Cowan House (BS23) is home to a variety of specialists and consultants, offering a range of health and lifestyle services in Weston-super-Mare.

Hours: Part Time Approx 22 hours per week. Job share would be considered for the right candidates.

Monday 12:30pm- 7pm

Tuesday 4:30pm- 7:30pm

Wednesday 4:30pm- 7:30pm

Thursday 4:30pm- 7:30pm

Friday 10:30am- 5:30pm

Salary:

Under 21 £10.85 per hour

21 and over £13.00 per hour

Annual leave:

28 days per year (pro rata) including bank holidays

Start Date: 14th September 2026

About Us: Cowan House is a well established wellbeing and lifestyle centre, looking for a warm, welcoming, and highly organized Part-Time Receptionist/Administrator to add to our team. Located right in the heart of a Conservation area in Weston-super-Mare, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional first impression to all our guests, clients, and visitors. We are close to the main station and bus services.

The Role: As the primary point of contact for our evening operations, you will be the face and voice of our business. You will attend to the front desk, handle inquiries, and ensure our evening operations run smoothly and securely. Full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcoming Visitors: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and sign clients in via the relevant booking systems. Call Management: Answer calls and action any enquiries with a high level of professionalism. Administrative Support: Create and amend room bookings, respond to emails, and assist with general office admin including social media. Security & Safety: Monitor the reception area and assist with closing/securing the building at the end of your shift. Uphold data protection procedures. Tidiness: Ensure the front desk and reception area remain clean, tidy, and professional.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, or customer service role is highly desirable. Warm, friendly, and professional demeanor with an excellent telephone manner and presentable appearance. GCSEs in English and Maths Strong IT skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office) and ability to prioritise and multitask. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently during quiet evening hours. Must reside in or have a reliable commute to the Weston-super-Mare (BS23) area.
