Full job description

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Commis Chef to join our fabulous team here at 1842 and Ivory Tower, to continue to develop the fun, exciting and passionate atmosphere we love to create.

Working alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef, you'll gain hands-on experience across all areas of our kitchens, including our restaurant and sister venue, The Ivory Tower. You'll assist in preparing and presenting fresh, high-quality dishes, helping to deliver an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a creative, fast-paced kitchen. You'll work with experienced chefs who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, giving you the chance to build your skills and grow within our business.

We're looking for someone who:

Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
Is eager to learn and develop their culinary skills.
Works well as part of a busy team.
Has a positive, hardworking attitude and is happy to get stuck in.
Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
Is organised, reliable and willing to learn all aspects of kitchen operations.
Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential – enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn are what matter most.

Established in 2016, we are a family-run independent business making our mark on Preston's hospitality scene. 1842 is a vibrant, customer-focused venue known for its eclectic small plates, imaginative cocktails and exceptional service. Our sister venue, The Ivory Tower, is a beautiful first-floor wedding and events space with capacity for up to 160 guests, hosting weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations.
