Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our bakery, assisting with food preparation, baking, and maintaining high standards of food safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a keen eye for detail, contributing to creating delicious baked goods in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the food production industry and gain valuable experience in bakery operations.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and baking products according to established recipes and standards
Support the production of a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the bakery workspace, adhering to food safety regulations
Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently under supervision
Ensure all baked items meet quality standards before packaging or display
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to ensure smooth bakery operations
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards
Assist with customer service tasks when required, including packaging and presenting baked goods

Requirements

Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
Knowledge of baking techniques and culinary practices is advantageous
Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary
