In line with the Government’s Shared Services Strategy, the Matrix Programme is intended to deliver modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine departments (the Policy Cluster), with UKSBS as the provider, meeting changing Government requirements, and driving innovations to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience.

The Programme will also implement a new modern SaaS ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments. This is a large, complex multi-year programme.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
As a People Specialist you will support managers and employees across the business on a full range of employee relations matters, with a strong focus on casework you will ensure that cases are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment law, organisational policy and best practice.

Management and coordination of employee relation activity, provide appropriate advice and guidance to managers to assist resolving people issues in a timely manner.
Subject matter expert in all areas of HR policy and procedure, and confident in its application within investigation meetings, disciplinary and grievance hearings. Ensuring legalisation, policy and ACAS best practise are followed.
Working collaboratively with managers from all levels of coaching and guiding on performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance.
Responsible for assessing whether an employee needs to be referred to Occupational Health, facilitation of the referral and coaching and supporting both the business and employee in relation to the recommendations.
Administration and coordination of casework records and tracker
Support and undertake policy review adapting HR best practice for UK SBS to ensure policies and practices are fit for purpose, comply with employment law and are successfully implemented by the Business.
Identify where guidance is required to support or in place of company policy, responsible for drafting and ensuring fit for purpose and implementation within the business.
Work in partnership with the senior management team with regards to the people agenda, working to achieve the business objectives.

To do this role well you will have the following experience:

Strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance cases.
Proven ability to coach and support managers in performance management, absence, disciplinary, and grievance processes.
Expertise in applying HR policies and ensuring compliance with employment law and best practices.
Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with employees, managers, and trade unions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

CIPD or equivalent qualification
Ability to create, review, and implement HR policies that are compliant with employment law and best practices.
Experience in assessing the need for Occupational Health referrals and supporting the implementation of recommendations.
