Join our dynamic dental team as a dedicated, qualified, GDC registered Lead Dental Nurse, where your passion for patient care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference.
This is ideally a full time role 8:30-17:30 Monday to Friday but we will consider part time job share for the right candidate.
As a Lead Dental Nurse you will be a positive role model to other dental nurses and relish the opportunity to take responsibility for optimising processes and compliance, alongside management, so as to ensure that our patients benefit from the best possible care and experience at all times with us.
In this vital role, you will support clinicians during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Duties
- Positive role model to other dental nurses and liaison with management team
- Assisting clinicians during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilised efficiently
- Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, including treatment notes and appointment schedules
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and hygiene standards to promote a safe environment
- Support with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and coordinating follow-up care
- Communicate clearly with patients, providing instructions for post-treatment care and answering questions effectively
- Organize dental supplies and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations within the practice
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Nurse and current GDC registration is mandatory; additional qualifications are preferred and encouraged - further training opportunities are available for motivated candidates
- Strong communication skills in English to interact confidently with patients and team members
- Sound knowledge and proven experience of nursing principles applied within a dental setting, including infection control and patient safety procedures
- Familiarity with IT systems used in healthcare environments for record keeping and appointment management
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and professionalism when caring for diverse patient needs
