Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of those in their care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing valuable skills within the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
Supporting individuals to maintain their independence and dignity
Implementing personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
Providing companionship and emotional support to those in your care
Assisting with light domestic tasks, including meal preparation and light cleaning
Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems
Communicating effectively with clients, families, and team members to ensure consistent and compassionate care delivery
Adhering to health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures

Experience

Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
Good organisational skills to manage multiple care plans and responsibilities effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to ensure clear understanding with clients and colleagues
Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism at all times
Managing teams of carers
