Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Senior Carer/Team Leader to join our dedicated care team. In this vital role, you will lead and supervise care staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to residents in a care home environment. Your leadership will foster a positive, supportive atmosphere where residents’ needs are met with professionalism, empathy, and respect. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, developing personalized care plans, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of care staff, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure excellent resident care
Oversee the implementation and review of individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures within the care home
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote transparency and trust
Assist with the training and development of staff to enhance their skills in senior care practices
Conduct regular audits of care documentation, including medication records and incident reports
Support the recruitment process by participating in interviews and onboarding new team members
Utilize IT systems to update care records, schedule shifts, and monitor staff performance

Qualifications

Proven supervising or leadership experience within a care home or senior care setting
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents, families, and colleagues
Knowledge of care plans development and implementation
Valid driving license preferred for transportation needs or community visits
Experience in managing or coordinating teams in a healthcare environment
Familiarity with IT systems used for care documentation and scheduling
Demonstrated understanding of health & safety regulations relevant to senior care
