Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, supporting daily shop operations, and assisting with administrative tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills within a dynamic retail environment. The Shop Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring customers have a positive experience and that the shop runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their enquiries
Operating the till system and processing transactions accurately
Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor
Restocking shelves and ensuring products are correctly displayed
Providing information about products and services to customers
Supporting administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and stock management
Assisting with inventory checks and stock replenishment
Handling customer complaints or concerns professionally and efficiently
Supporting team members in daily shop operations to ensure smooth workflow

Experience

Previous experience in customer service or retail is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Organised, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Friendly demeanour with a strong focus on delivering outstanding customer service
