Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and hands-on work. The position involves working with various tools and equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our service centre.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts accurately.
Interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate precise repairs and assembly tasks.
Carry out welding and fabrication work as required to restore or modify vehicle structures.
Assist in the assembly of new vehicles or components following manufacturer specifications.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements.
Perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy parts during repairs or replacements.
Maintain detailed records of all work performed for each vehicle in accordance with company procedures.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Experience

Proven experience working as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar automotive repair role.
Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle systems and components.
Familiarity with reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for repairs and maintenance.
Experience with equipment repair, welding techniques, and general assembly processes is highly desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail.
Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
