Full job description

Job Summary
Gisborough Hall are looking for a reliable and efficient Night Porter, on a 40-hour (full time) basis, who will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel runs smoothly on a nightly basis. The role is based on 5 nights out of 7. Shifts will include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

General responsibilities include:-

To manage all operations relating to nights, carrying out Reception duties arising during this time.
To check and balance daily business before you process the Night audit ensuring all documentation is forwarded to the accounts department.
Security of the building is key to this role, and you’ll act as a Fire Officer on duty & must be able to act swiftly should the fire alarms be activated to ensure the safety of all guests and employees.
Deal with guest enquiries, including room service.
Ensure all areas of the hotel are clean and tidy at all times and that only residents are on the premises once all functions have finished.
Carry out hotel security, energy and fire walkarounds at the agreed times, ensuring all documentation is completed.
Ensure all areas of the hotel are consistently set to core standards in line with function sheets reporting any maintenance issues promptly.

Requirements

Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is advantageous
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Strong phone etiquette skills for handling guest inquiries and reservations
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required
Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment

Although experience in a similar role (that included nights work) is an advantage although full training will be given.
