Full job description

Total Electrical Contractors Ltd is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HVAC Apprentice to join our growing Mechanical & Electrical team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry while working towards a recognised Level 2&3 apprenticeship qualification.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience installing, servicing and maintaining commercial Mechanical & HVAC systems at a mixed Laboratory and Office facility on Milton Park in Abingdon.

Assist with the installation of air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump systems.
Support engineers carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
Assist with fault finding, diagnostics and repairs.
Learn to commission HVAC & Mechanical equipment.
Help install containment, pipework, brackets, condensate drainage and associated electrical supplies.
Assist with pressure testing and system performance checks.
Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturers' instructions.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current regulations.

Requirements

GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Good communication skills.
Strong practical and problem-solving ability.
Reliable and punctual.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Able to travel to Northampton for training/college.*ESSENTIAL FOR THE COURSE PROVIDED*

Pay

The rate of pay is to be set inline with the JIB industry rates:

Stage 1 £8.16/hr

Stage 2 £10.60/hr

Stage 3 £13.05/hr

Stage 4 £14.03/hr

Pay: From £8.16 per hour

Work Location: In person
