Full job description

Sales Executive

Cheltenham | Full-Time | £25k-£30k

My client is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Executive to join their growing sales team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing new business opportunities and delivering an excellent customer experience.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business through a combination of account management, new business development and sales administration.

You will work closely with customers, dealers, distributors and internal teams, developing a strong understanding of the company’s products, applications and markets while supporting the achievement of sales targets and wider business objectives.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, dealers and distributors.
Proactively following up sales enquiries and opportunities generated through sales and marketing channels.
Understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate product solutions.
Preparing quotations and accurately processing customer orders.
Maintaining accurate customer records, opportunities and activities within the CRM system.
Supporting the growth of existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities for new business.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering and Marketing teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Responding professionally and promptly to customer enquiries by telephone, email and online channels.
Supporting customer visits, product demonstrations, trade shows and industry events where required.
Developing a strong understanding of the company’s products, applications and target markets.
Providing management with customer feedback, market trends and competitor activity.
Supporting the achievement of individual and team sales targets.
Taking ownership of sales-related projects and tasks through to completion.
Contributing ideas to improve sales processes, customer experience and overall business performance.
Maintaining high standards of professionalism, organisation and customer service.

About You

My client is looking for someone who is:

A confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
Customer-focused with a positive and professional approach.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
Experienced in using CRM systems — Salesforce experience would be advantageous.
Able to learn technical products and communicate their benefits effectively.
Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail.
Self-motivated, proactive and willing to take ownership.
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team.
Keen to develop their sales, product and industry knowledge.
Experienced in sales, customer service or another customer-facing role (advantageous).
Experienced within construction, engineering, agriculture or a related industry (beneficial but not essential).
Willing to travel occasionally for customer visits, training and industry events.
