Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
Prepare high-quality dishes in line with menu specifications and customer expectations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen.
Support food production processes, including portion control, plating, and garnishing.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through effective stock control.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and professionalism.

Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
Extensive kitchen experience with a solid understanding of culinary practices and standards.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
