About The Role

We are looking for Children’s Residential Support Workers who care about making every moment matter for the children and young people, regardless of qualifications or experience.

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower young people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone's individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Location: Ashton under Lyme OL6

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

For the first 3 months you will work day shifts to complete training and then the rota will consist of 3 weeks of night shifts followed by 1 week of day shifts per month.

Shifts: Days, evenings, nights, weekends

Job type: Permanent

Experience of challenging behaviour and/or learning disabilities is preferred but all training will be provided.

The role

To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the children and young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans
Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs and ensure they are met in an inclusive way
Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice
General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as, possibly, elements of personal care
As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents

About The Service

The Courtyard is a small purpose-built bungalow for children with complex medical needs, with life limiting illnesses. The support team are trained to look after children who may have a tracheostomy tube, require long term ventilation, epilepsy, physio, gastrostomies, and other medical needs.
