Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our Residential Care Home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the wellbeing of our residents through high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The role requires a commitment to delivering excellent standards of domestic care within a caring and professional setting.

Duties

Perform general cleaning duties throughout the care home, including bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and corridors.
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linen.
Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment issues promptly.
Follow infection control procedures diligently to prevent the spread of illness.
Support residents with light domestic tasks if needed, always respecting their dignity and privacy.
Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming environment by maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the home.

Skills

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Good organisational skills to manage multiple cleaning tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment.
Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude towards residents’ care and wellbeing.
Knowledge of infection control procedures and safe handling of cleaning chemicals is beneficial but not mandatory.
