Full job description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated care team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents by designing and delivering engaging, person-centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence, social inclusion, and quality of life.

The successful candidate will develop, implement, and evaluate a varied activities programme that reflects residents' individual interests, preferences, cultural backgrounds, and abilities, while supporting compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan and deliver person-centred activities tailored to residents' individual interests, abilities, and needs.

· Organise engaging group and one-to-one activities that promote wellbeing, social interaction, and inclusion.

· Adapt activities to support residents living with dementia, sensory impairments, or reduced mobility.

· Promote residents' dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life.

· Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.

· Support residents' emotional, social, and mental wellbeing through meaningful engagement.

· Ensure appropriate consent is obtained and apply Mental Capacity Act principles when required.

· Conduct risk assessments and ensure activities are delivered safely.

· Maintain activity equipment and adhere to infection prevention and control procedures.

· Keep accurate records of activities, participation, outcomes, and resident feedback.

· Work collaboratively with care teams to support residents' individual goals and care plans.

· Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve activity programmes.

· Ensure compliance with CQC standards, organisational policies, and quality improvement initiatives.

We are looking for:

· Experience working with older adults, preferably within a regulated care setting.

· Good understanding of person-centred care and CQC standards.

· Ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive activities for individuals and groups.

· Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time-management skills.

· QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and dementia or activity coordination training are desirable.

· Experience in a residential or nursing care home environment is advantageous.

· Creative, enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient approach.

· Reliable, well organised, and able to motivate and inspire others.

· Passionate about improving the wellbeing and quality of life of older people.
