Full job description

As a result of the unfortunate, but long anticipated, departure of 2 of our staff to go to University and pastures new, we are seeking 2 x Customer Service Assistants for our busy fish and chip shop.

Working as part of a small team, and as part of a small family business, you will be responsible for serving food, customer service, cash handling and all aspects of keeping our customers happy, our shop clean and our food great.

Experience is preferred, but not required, as full training up to level 1 food hygiene certificate will be provided. Candidates must be fluent in English, well spoken, polite, smart and well presented and be prepared to smile and be nice to people for long periods of time.

Our main requirements are a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, someone who is prepared to work hard and get involved and do everything with a big smile. Grumpy people who complain a lot or phone in sick on a regular basis should not apply......

Shifts are flexible and are typically evening shifts (4.30pm - 9.15pm) Monday - Saturday, although some daytime shifts may be available. Each role currently undertakes 3 evening shifts per week (14-16 hours), however we are flexible and various shift patterns can be accommodated. Candidates who have limited availability will also be considered, however we are fully flexible and may consider 1 person covering both roles or 2 people doing more/less hours in any week. Any restrictions on your shift availability should be clearly highlighted when submitting your application. We are closed on Sundays but applicants will be expected to work at least every other Friday / Saturday.
