Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Day and Night Transport Admin Clerk to join our logistics team. This role involves managing transportation documentation, coordinating shipments, and supporting supply chain operations across various shifts. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent communication within the team and with external partners. This position offers full paid employment and opportunities for professional development within a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

Manage transportation management systems to schedule and track shipments efficiently.
Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely delivery and collection of goods.
Input data accurately into systems such as AS400, SyteLine, and other logistics software.
Assist with analysis of logistics data to identify areas for process improvement.
Maintain precise records of shipments, inventory movements, and related documentation.
Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments via phone and email.
Prepare shipping documents, labels, and customs paperwork as required.
Support supply chain operations by monitoring delivery schedules and resolving discrepancies.
Utilise strong data entry skills to update databases promptly and accurately.
Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when liaising with external partners or internal teams.

Skills

Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software such as AS400 and SyteLine.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including shipping & receiving procedures.
Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL) is advantageous.
Analytical skills to interpret logistics data and generate reports for management review.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional phone manner.
High level of accuracy in data entry tasks combined with good organisational abilities.
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively across day and night shifts.
Familiarity with shipping documentation standards and customs procedures is desirable.
Strong typing skills to facilitate efficient record keeping.
