Ready to take the next step into a Finance Director role?

Sorbon Estates is a privately owned, multi award winning commercial property investor and developer with an established track record of enhancing both properties and their surrounding environments, we take pride in our diverse, continually evolving portfolio.

As part of the Shanly Group, we have built a reputation for long-term investment, entrepreneurial thinking and creating lasting value through property investment, development and asset management.

We are now looking for an ambitious and commercially minded financial professional to join our senior leadership team as Finance Director.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Financial Controller or Head of Finance who is ready to take the next step in their career. What matters most is your understanding of the property sector, sound commercial judgement and ability to lead at a senior level.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, helping shape business strategy, influence key decisions and support the long-term success of the company.

This is a broad and highly commercial role that extends well beyond traditional finance. You’ll have exposure to every aspect of the business, from acquisition, development and asset management.

Responsibilities include:

Lead and develop a high-performing finance function, ensure robust controls, accurate reporting and meaningful management information.

Analyse portfolio performance, identifying opportunities to enhance returns, reduce risk and unlock value.

Provide commercial support and challenge across leasing, investment, development and refurbishment projects.

Support acquisitions from initial appraisal through to completion.

Oversee financial planning, banking relationships, refinancing activities and covenant management.

Partnering with colleagues across asset management, leasing and development to provide commercial challenge and insight.

Review development appraisals, project viability, build costs and programme assumptions, ensuring investment decisions are commercially sound.

Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting and business processes.

Build strong relationships across the business, supporting teams to improve performance, accountability and commercial awareness.

About you

You may already be operating as a Finance Director, or an ambitious finance leader looking to take the next step in your career.

You may currently be a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or similar, demonstrating the commercial thinking and leadership presence needed to succeed at director level.

You’ll bring:

Strong finance within property investment, development or a related real estate environment.

Qualified accountant with the ability to translate financial information into practical business decisions.

Experience supporting property transactions, acquisitions, leasing activity or asset management initiatives.

Strong understanding of property finance, taxation, VAT and investment appraisal.

Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to provide challenge where appropriate.

Credible and influential leader who can build strong relationships at all levels.
