Full job description

TRANSPORT CLERK

Patersons Quarries are an independent quarrying company based in Coatbridge, we have sites across the central belt of Scotland and supply a wide range of quarry products, readymix concrete, concrete blocks and concrete bricks. As part of our group, we also own and operate Gartsherrie Engineering Ltd, Patersons Waste Management, Palmaris Services, Stratiis IT, MML Marine, Palmaris Hire Services & Route 74 Truckstop.

Based in Coatbridge with travel to our Rigside site, you will provide an efficient and pleasant service to clients through effective communication as well as providing clerical support to the Transport Department.

We operate a fleet of 60 HGV Vehicles alongside company vans and have 5 onsite mechanics split between our Coatbridge and Rigside depots.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Assist with routing trucks in relation to deliveries and back loads.
Order fuel as required.
Liaise with Workshop Manager to order spare parts as required.
Charge our haulage tickets by issuing invoices and passing them to the Sales Department.
Deal with plant records and maintenance. Defect sheets should be forwarded through on a weekly basis to schedule work for plant fitters.
Monitor Drivers working hours as per Working Time Directive requirements.
Report punctures and liaise with external tyre company as required.
Process orders in terms of clothing, movement of quarry machinery and machine spares etc.
You will also be expected to drive to our various sites on occasion for deliveries/meetings etc.,
Support the HR Department with first level absence meetings, investigation meetings, etc., for the Transport Department as required.

Key Requirements

Transport Clerk Experience in a similar role
Computer literate.
Good Communication skills.
Ability to work using own initiative.
Excellent team working skills.
