Job Description

Aramark UK are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Drayton Manor High School. Supporting the Head Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to students and staff, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen. Job Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals in line with school standards
Prepare, cook, and present food that is appealing, portion-controlled, and suitable for students
Supervise kitchen operations and staff in the absence of the Head Chef
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations (e.g. HACCP)
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
Maintain cleanliness and organisation across all kitchen areas
Adapt menus and recipes to meet dietary, allergen, and cultural requirements
Train and support junior team members while promoting a positive team environment

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Cook, or in a similar high-volume catering environment
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance (e.g. HACCP)
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards
Good organisational and communication skills
Experience adapting meals to meet dietary, allergen, and cultural requirements
A positive, reliable, and team-focused approach with the ability to support and guide others
