Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Charity Trustee to join our governance team and help steer the strategic direction of our organization. As a vital member of the board, you will contribute your expertise to ensure the charity fulfills its mission effectively and sustainably. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community, working alongside committed professionals and volunteers to drive positive change. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong leadership skills, and a genuine commitment to our cause.

Responsibilities

Attend regular board meetings to provide strategic oversight and guidance on organizational priorities
Contribute to the development and review of policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Support fundraising efforts by leveraging personal networks and promoting engagement within the community
Oversee financial management, including reviewing budgets, financial reports, and ensuring sound stewardship of resources
Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including beneficiaries, partners, donors, and the wider community
Promote the charity’s public profile through effective communication strategies and public relations activities
Assist in evaluating the organization’s performance against its goals, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in marketing, relationship management, or public relations is highly desirable
Proven ability in fundraising activities or campaigns to support organizational growth
Strong customer service skills with an empathetic approach to stakeholder engagement
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively represent the charity publicly
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also exercising independent judgment when necessary
Commitment to the charity’s mission, values, and ethical standards
