Receptionist (Part-Time or Full-Time role, please note includes 2 x Saturdays 9am-2pm)

Private Dental Practice – Billericay High Street

We are a small, high-end private dental practice located on Billericay High Street with a team of experienced clinicians and a strong focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Our practice provides general dentistry alongside Invisalign, dental implants and facial aesthetics. We are looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Receptionist to become the welcoming face of our practice.

Whilst previous dental experience is preferred, we are also happy to consider candidates with some dental knowledge who demonstrate enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and an excellent work ethic.

Our practice is built on providing honest, ethical dentistry in a warm and welcoming environment. We pride ourselves on creating an outstanding experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Job Summary

This role is ideal for someone with excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills who enjoys working with people and delivering an outstanding patient experience. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while creating a welcoming, professional and caring environment.

The position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis. For part-time applicants, a minimum commitment of three weekdays per week is required, plus two Saturdays per month (9:00am–2:00pm).

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients and providing an exceptional first impression.
Managing the reception desk and front-of-house experience.
Booking, amending and coordinating appointments.
Answering telephone calls, emails and patient enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Taking payments and accurately calculating balances due using our patient deposit system.
Guiding patients through their treatment journey with care, professionalism and confidence.
Using dental software to manage patient records and appointments.
Working closely with clinicians and the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
Assisting with general administrative duties as required.
Supporting the practice with social media activity where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident, friendly and professional manner.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with patients from all walks of life.
Good numeracy skills and confidence working with figures, as you will be responsible for calculating patient payments using our deposit system.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
A positive, proactive and reliable approach to work.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Desirable Skills

Previous experience working within a dental practice.
Dental nursing experience (preferred but not essential).
Social media experience would be a distinct advantage. If you have previously created or managed content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or other platforms, we'd love to see examples of your work or evidence of your skills as part of your application.
A genuine desire to learn, develop and build a long-term career within private dentistry.
