Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counsellor/Wellbeing Support to support students' emotional, social, and academic development. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, staff, and parents to promote a positive school environment and foster student well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives within a supportive educational setting.

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 8, Points 19-24

Hours: 37 hours p/w – 39 weeks p/y

The Opportunity

Lead on all counselling services to pupils provided by the school.
Provide independent and confidential counselling service to pupils through individual sessions.
Promote a caring and supportive environment, support and advise vulnerable children and their families.
Promote mental and emotional health.

The ideal candidate:

Has a Level 3 or 4 qualification in counselling or Psychotherapy.
Is confident and resilient, patient and nurturing, and wants to help us to support our pupils to thrive and develop into successful young people.
Is interested in playing an active role in safeguarding children and adhering to our policies.
Can act on their own initiative.
Is motivated, passionate, and reflective about their work.
Demonstrates an understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.
