Reflection Room and Behaviour Manager

Location: Castle Vale, Birmingham, B35 7NL
Salary: £26,000–£28,000 actual salary, depending on experience
Full-time equivalent: Approximately £29,500–£31,800
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–4:30pm, including a paid lunch break
Start date: Week commencing 24 August 2026. Applicants must be available to start before 1 September.

About the role

Foundations4TheFuture CIC is looking for a confident and experienced Reflection and Behaviour Manager to lead an inclusion room within a school.

You will support pupils who have been removed from mainstream lessons due to behaviour or additional needs, providing a calm, structured environment where they can regulate, reflect and continue learning.

Main responsibilities

Manage the daily running of the reflection room.
Maintain clear routines, expectations and boundaries.
Manage challenging behaviour and use effective de-escalation strategies.
Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour reflection.
Supervise appropriate learning activities and support reintegration into lessons.
Follow school behaviour and safeguarding procedures.
Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff and senior leaders.

About you

You will need:

Experience working in a school, alternative provision, youth service or similar setting.
Confidence managing groups and challenging behaviour independently.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A calm, consistent and professional approach.
An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
An enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Experience within an inclusion room, pastoral team, behaviour unit, SEND setting or alternative provision would be an advantage.

Salary and benefits

The actual annual salary is £26,000–£28,000, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.

The role covers 39 school weeks plus up to two scheduled weeks during summer school holidays for training, preparation and camp provision. Statutory annual leave must normally be taken during school closure periods.
