Full job description

The role: supporting the management of a large team ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators to optimise cash flow through maximising collection, closely collaborating with the Billing team to aid accurate, first-time billing practices and the reduction of debt risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and assist in the continued development of a high performing Credit Control team
Responsible for driving cash collection and debtor days targets by managing the prompt collection of all debt
Responsible for debtor related financial reporting month end processes and associated reporting, ensuring all processes align with company credit policies and SOX internal control frameworks
Provide, where required support into billing related issues/disputes which impact debt recovery to include supporting legal resolutions to aid debt recovery
Responsible for the review and development of operational credit control processes and policies to ensure they are accurately documented, fit for purpose and communicated accordingly
Supporting the implementation of both short term and mid-term strategies and Projects through direct participation in project planning and delivery.
Liaise with Care Homes and Regional Directors to ensure that queries and outstanding issues are resolved promptly
Provide feedback and escalate issues where sales ledger or credit control procedures are not followed, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
Act a key point of contact for Auditors
Assist in the provision of training programmes for Home Managers and Home Administrators

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in leading and managing a credit control team
In-depth knowledge and extensive experience across sales ledger, credit control, and billing processes
Proven experience in recovering outstanding payments from local authorities and government bodies
Strong understanding of litigation processes and the steps required to advance claims effectively
