Nursery Cleaner (Self-Employed Cover Staff) – Night Shifts (6.30am to 9pm).

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated self-employed Nursery Cleaner to provide cover during periods when our regular cleaning staff are on annual leave or absent. This is a flexible, night-shift role, ideal for someone looking for occasional work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the nursery, ensuring the premises are ready for children and staff each day.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to their own vehicle, and hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate.

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Carry out thorough cleaning of nursery rooms, play areas, and communal spaces during night hours.
Sanitise toys, furniture, and equipment to meet health and safety standards.
Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly.
Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and other sanitary facilities.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as required.
Restock cleaning supplies and ensure cleaning equipment is maintained.
Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Report any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns to management promptly.

Essential Requirements

Self-employed and responsible for your own tax and National Insurance.
Full UK driving licence.
Access to your own reliable vehicle.
Current Enhanced DBS certificate.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial, or similar roles.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures relating to cleaning.
