Join a dedicated team maintaining one of Chester's busiest shopping destinations while developing valuable facilities management skills.

Job Title: Car Park Attendant
Location: Eastgate Shopping Centre, Chester
Pay Rate: £12.94
Hours: 30 per week, set rota: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Temporary 6 month contract with potential to extend

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and customer-focused Car Park Attendant to join our team and help maintain a busy multi-storey car park to a consistently high standard.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be responsible for ensuring the car park remains clean, safe, well-maintained and welcoming for customers, visitors and staff. You will work as part of a team while also being expected to work independently, take initiative and respond professionally to situations as they arise.

Due to the nature of the environment, health and safety is a key priority. You will be expected to follow all relevant health and safety procedures, use equipment correctly, remain alert to potential hazards and help maintain a safe environment for both customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out regular cleaning duties throughout the multi-storey car park, ensuring all areas are maintained to a high standard
Use cleaning machinery and equipment safely and effectively to support routine and deep-cleaning activities
Clean floors, stairwells, walkways, ramps, walls, pillars and other areas as required
Identify and report defects, damage, spillages, hazards and maintenance issues promptly
Carry out regular patrols of the car park using a handheld patrol monitoring device
Accurately record cleaning activities, inspections, patrols and any issues identified
Assist customers and visitors in a friendly, professional and helpful manner
Provide directions and general assistance to customers when required
Support traffic management during busy periods, events, incidents or other situations where required
Help manage vehicle and pedestrian movements safely within the car park environment
Respond appropriately to incidents and escalate concerns to the relevant manager or control room
Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times
Follow all company policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
Correctly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning equipment
Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of customers, visitors and colleagues
Complete any other reasonable duties associated with the role

Previous experience in cleaning, facilities management, car park operations, traffic management or a customer-facing environment would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
