Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 4:00pm

Description

Intervention Coordinator

Do you want a role where you are the steady, trusted person in a young person's corner? At Aspire in Arts we work with young people who have often had a hard time in mainstream education, and we give them a safe, creative place to re-engage and move forward. We are looking for an Intervention Coordinator to lead the day to day support, monitoring and progression of young people on our intervention programmes in Nuneaton.

About the role

You are the key point of contact for our intervention learners. You build strong relationships with young people, families and professionals, keep learners engaged and supported, and provide the operational leadership that keeps the provision running well day to day.

What you will be doing

Completing wellbeing, skills and baseline assessments, and supporting individual learner plans and targets
Building positive, trusting relationships with young people and acting as their key point of contact
Monitoring wellbeing, attendance, engagement and progress, and putting support in place where young people are struggling
Keeping in regular contact with parents, carers and professionals, and following up absences and concerns promptly
Keeping accurate learner records, case notes and communication logs
Attending Child in Need, Child Protection, Team Around the Family, Early Help and other professional meetings, and contributing reports and updates
Working alongside schools, social workers, virtual schools, youth justice services and other agencies
Leading the day to day running of the intervention provision and guiding the youth workers delivering sessions
Supporting delivery on the floor and covering sessions where needed
Producing learner reviews, progress reports and placement summaries, and contributing evidence towards EHCP outcomes
Delivering and supporting our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme during the school holidays

What we are looking for

Essential

Experience of working with young people who have disengaged from education, have SEND, SEMH needs or complex backgrounds
A good understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and child-centred approaches
Knowledge of Child in Need, Child Protection, Early Help and multi-agency processes
Able to build strong relationships with young people and families
Strong communication and report-writing skills, and confident contributing to professional meetings
Able to manage a caseload, keep accurate records, and coordinate day to day provision
Able to respond calmly and professionally in challenging situations

Desirable

A relevant qualification in youth work, education, social care or a related field
Knowledge of EHCP processes and SEND provision
Full UK driving licence and access to own transport

A bit about us

Aspire in Arts is a youth organisation in Nuneaton, working with around 250 young people every week. Our home on Abbey Street has specialist rooms designed around what young people actually asked for, from a recording studio to a youth gym, and our work is built on relationships, trust and giving young people a voice.
